Good morning! Today, we will be blending up a low sugar strawberry vanilla smoothie. I make this, or other smoothies like it, for Jack and myself just about every day. Check out the recipe based on ingredients I buy from Costco. After that, we will go over why a low sugar smoothie is a good way to start the day.
Low Sugar Strawberry Vanilla Smoothie
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 tablespoon coconut cream
- 2 scoops collagen protein powder
- Combine all ingredients in a blender pitcher or smoothie cup.
- Blend until completely smooth.
Why Low Sugar
A low sugar strawberry vanilla smoothie is perfect for us because it's loaded with collagen protein and a little fat from the coconut cream for a balanced calorie breakdown. We really need protein and fat in every meal. It's so easy to grab an easy breakfast that is all simple sugar without much fuel for the day. The last thing I need is to go from an empty stomach to sky high blood sugar levels and then a crash before 10:00 AM.
I bought my Ninja Mega Kitchen System from Costco a few years ago. Costco offers a variety of high powered blenders throughout the year. Costco runs a few blender road shows from various brands who offer in-store demonstrations. The Ninja I purchased was not from a roadshow, but an in-line item.
At the end of the day, Costco looks for the highest quality appliances. I trust that Costco buyers have done their research. The Amazon link above is for the specific blender I purchased and love, but may not be available in Costco locations now.
Other Fancy Apron Breakfasts
Tri Color Breakfast Potatoes is another well balanced breakfast loaded up with veggies and protein. It's made in the air fryer which a bonus in my book.
Cheesecake French Toast this is not a healthy breakfast. This is a Sunday- treat day kind of breakfast, but worth every bite 🙂
