Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1-12 heads of garlic
  • olive oil
  • salt

Instructions

  • Start by preheating your pellet grill to 375°F. Let it heat for 15 minutes with the lid closed while you prepare the heads of garlic.
  • Take a whole bulb of garlic and turn it on its side. Cut off the top so that each clove is exposed.
  • Place the cut bulb of garlic in the center of a foil square. Drizzle with a little olive oil and season with salt. Fold the sides of the foil up and pinch it together so you have a little closed bundle.
  • If you are making a big batch, drop each bulb of garlic in a spot of a cupcake tin. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt. Cover the whole pan with foil.
  • Place the wrapped garlic directly on the grill grates and close the lid. Cook the garlic like this for 45-60 minutes.
  • Remove the garlic from the smoker when the cloves are tender and golden brown.
  • Let the garlic cool off just a bit before handling. Once you can safely handle the garlic, squeeze the soft cloves out and use as desired.
