Shopping for a Spiral-Cut Ham
Grabbing a spiral-sliced ham from the grocery store is one shortcut I can get behind. The Kirkland brand offers the best quality at the best price possible.
A bone-in ham from Costco will serve approximately 16-18 people at a totally reasonable price. The thin sliced tender meat just needs a little love to take your holiday feast to the next level.
If you want a smaller option, you can opt for the boneless ham that is also found in the refrigerated deli section. Just scale down the recipe for the homemade glaze below.

- BBQ Rub
- Chicken Stock or Chicken Broth
Recommended Cooking Equipment
Meat Thermometer - for the initial heating process, it is less about cook time and more about internal temperature before moving on to the glaze step. A meat thermometer is the best way to get there.

Oven Baked Spiral Ham

Step 1: preheat your oven to 275˚ and take the Kirkland ham out of the packaging. Place the ham in a large roasting pan or baking dish FLAT SIDE down.
Step 2: add ½ cup of water or chicken stock to the baking dish and cover with foil. Place this in the oven and make for 12-15 minutes per pound. Thats approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Step 3: make the glaze. Remove the foil. Turn the ham in its side and brush the glaze all over. Make sure to get the glaze in between the slices.
Step 4: increase the temperature to 375˚F and cook for an additional 15 minutes.
Slice and serve immediately.
**The directions that come with the ham say to increase the oven temperature to 475˚F. In my opinion, that is too high, which can cause the outer slices of ham may dry out.
