Great Fresh Flavors of Homemade Sorbet
A great sorbet has all of the juicy sweet flavor from fresh fruit without any of the hassle. We love strawberries in the summer time, but you can make this with any favorite fruits you want. I love everything from a mixed berry sorbet to a bright mango sorbet. With a little added sweetness from honey or maple syrup, your kids will feel like they're getting a special sweet treat, but much healthier with less sugar. Once you get the feel for the ingredients and easy steps, you'll be able to change it up. Use different fruits depending on the time of year and you'll never be bored.
The Simple Ingredients

One of the best parts about homemade fruit sorbet is that you can make it for your kids without a bunch of added sugar. Just frozen fruit with some juice and a little honey or simple syrup in the exact amount you want.
- Frozen Strawberries
- Honey or Simple Syrup
- Fruit Juice such as orange juice, apple juice, or fruit punch
How to Make Strawberry Sorbet

This comes together super fast, so you can enjoy your own sorbet recipe on a hot day in no time!
- Add all of the ingredients to your high-speed blender. Blend on high for 30 seconds.
- Scrape down the sides and push any chunks of fruit to the bottom.
- Blend again on high for 30-60 seconds.
- Add a few tablespoons of liquid if needed to completely combine the fruit puree into a smooth mixture. Repeat blending until desired texture achieved.
Storing Your Sorbet
Keep your fruit sorbet fresh in an airtight container in the freezer for up to two months, however, for quality it's bet to enjoy it within 2 weeks. For best results, save it in a shallow container and place a layer of plastic wrap directly on the surface pressing down. This will protect it even more from frost and becoming to hard to scoop.
Fun Serving Options
A great way to serve your easy fruit sorbet is in a cute bowl, clear glass so you can see the color, or on an ice cream cone.
Recipe Modifications and More Frozen Fruit Options
Once you get the general ratios for frozen fruit and liquid, you can change up your recipe many different ways.
Want a little zip and zing in your sorbet? Add 1-2 tablespoons of lemon juice to brighten up the sorbet.
One of my personal favorites is this berry sorbet recipe with 2 cups of frozen berry blend, fruit punch, and honey.
Another great option is a citrus blend. Frozen pineapple or strawberries with lime juice, orange juice, or lemon.
You can create a creamy texture by adding 2 tablespoons of coconut cream to the mixture when you blend.
