Adorable July 4th Rice Krispie Treats
I love a summer cookout with great food. I especially enjoy all of the patriotic holidays when we get together with friends for a casual and laid back party. These fourth of July Rice Krispie treats are tasty, fun, and the perfect treat to hand out while the kids are in wet swimsuits hanging out by the pool.
Now I know these are geared toward the 4th of July, but they are also great for Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Simple Ingredients You'll Need

Just grab the Rice Krispie treat basics plus two more simple ingredients.
- 5 ½ cups Mini Marshmallows
- 4 tablespoon Unsalted Butter
- 6 cup Rice Krispies Cereal
- 3 tablespoon Patriotic Sprinkles
- ⅓ cup White Chocolate Melting Wafers

Must Have Supplies

One thing I love about these classic treats is that you don't need anything fancy to make them. The only thing you might not have already is the star-shaped cookie cutter. But fear not, I have an Amazon link for that.
- Star Shaped Cookie Cutter
- 9x13 Baking Dish
- Parchment Paper
- Rubber Spatula
- Foos dafe gloves (optional)
How to Make Star Shaped Rice Krispie Treats

I am all about an easy no bake treat that requires minimal effort. To make these, you just need to accomplish 3 small tasks.
- Make the Rice Krispies treats by following the package directions on the cereal box.
- In a large pot, melt the butter and stir in the marshmallows. After the mallows have melted, add the cereal and sprinkles. Let it set up in a 9x13 baking dish.
- Let the treats firm up at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Punch out the star shapes. Spray the star cookie cutter with nonstick cooking spray and punch out the stars. Compress the leftover Rice Krispie treat and punch out a few more stars.
- Decorate the top of the treats with chocolate drizzle and more sprinkles. Melt some white chocolate candy melts and transfer to a disposable piping bags. Cut off a small tip and drizzle each star.
- Finish with more sprinkles and let dry.
Recipe Modifications and More Ways to Decorate

Let's say you want to make these treats even more extra, or maybe you have some other red, white and blue ingredients around.
Colored chocolate drizzle- if you have red or blue candy melts, those are another great option for the colorful drizzle
Red and blue m&m candies are also a fun addition to your fun patriotic treat.
Turn up the flavor of the actual Rice Krispie treats by adding half of a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the melted marshmallow mixture.
Storing Instructions
Whether you are making your patriotic Rice Krispie treats in advance, or have some leftover from your celebration, save them in an airtight container. They will dry out if left exposed to air. A zip top bag works great or you can cover with plastic wrap. But, you can keep them at room temperature, and they should not be refrigerated.
