Bright and Refreshing White Wine Sangria
The first time I made a batch of strawberry white wine sangria, I knew I found my summer beverage. The strawberry flavor infuses into crisp Pinot Grigio in just a couple of hours. By topping it off with a sparkling water, we really get that light and bubbly hit without feeling weighed down by a heavy mixed drink.
Best Wine to Use For Sangria
Here's the vibe we are going for with this sangria: bright, refreshing, crisp, and fun. That means the best white wine will be light and crisp. Pinot Grigio is the perfect warm-weather wine. The kind of crisp white wine you can drink in the early afternoon.
The backup option is a dry Sauvignon Blanc. The important thing to keep in mind is that we don't want anything too heavy or overpowering. A Chardonnay will be too heavy for our white strawberry sangria.
Simple Strawberry Sangria Ingredients

The secret ingredient to our sangria is the orange liqueur. Aside from that, as long as you choose a dry white wine and beautiful summer fruits, you will have an A++ refreshing cocktail.
- 1 Bottle Pinot Grigio
- ½ Orange Liqueur (like triple sec or grand marnier)
- 1 cup Sliced Fresh Strawberries
- 2 Oranges
- 2 Lemons
- 12 ounces Club Soda or bubbly seltzer water

Do you love bubbles? You can transform your traditional sangria with a prosecco or a champagne. A light and bubbly Prosecco is just the ticket for a brunch or the kind of drink to take you through a lazy afternoon.
Make this a mocktail by infusing club soda or seltzer water with fresh fruit, orange juice, and simple syrup.
More Summer Cocktails to Lock Down

One of my other favorite drinks to enjoy by the pool is a Blood Orange Margarita. It combines blood orange juice with tequila, lime juice, and triple sec for a dynamite drink.
